Christiane has been a birth professional since 2009 and has greatly enjoyed serving families in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. She began her birth working journey as a doula starting with DONA Doula Training and continued on at The Farm with Ina May Gaskin, Diane Whapio Bartlett as well as spending time in Bali learning from such renowned teachers as Debra Pascali-Bonaro, Katherine Bramhall and Robin Lim. Always on the lookout to improve her skills and toolset, she certified in Aromatherapy first at West Valley College and continued her studies under private tutelage. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor and leads Breastfeeding Parent Support groups in San Jose and Santa Cruz, as well as offering in-home lactation visits and private classes. Over the years she fell in love with Homebirth and Homebirth midwifery, putting her on the path to becoming a Homebirth Midwife. Christiane graduated as a Homebirth Midwife in the Spring of 2020 from the National Midwifery Institute and received her Medical License for the state of California as well as National Licensure in 2021.
She is currently working on her licensure as an International Practitioner of Holistic Health Care. During her studies in midwifery she became fascinated with and interested in homeopathy and started studying with Piper Martin. She has become very knowledgeable in homeopathy as it pertains to labor and birth. She offers homeopathic inductions for postdate pregnancies, and a homeopathic preparation protocol (started at 32-34 weeks) for mothers who for medical reasons require an early induction.
Besides midwifery care, lactation and homeopathic care she also offers postpartum midwifery care for mothers who had their babies in hospital. Christiane has 6 children and 3 grandchildren, who make her incredibly proud and happy. When not assisting families with birth or breastfeeding you can find her at the beach enjoying the water and collecting seashells. She is an avid reader and loves to knit and spin.
